THE WRITING WORKLOOP

Today is the Indie Film Loop’s first official Workloop Challenge that will lead to our first “Community” made film! It all starts with the writer and we are all excited to see what you come up with! Meet us at Highwire Comedy Co. today at 7pm and we will introduce you to all of the things we have planed for you all to be apart of. Michael Sokol, an industry PRO, will then go over some great writing techniques and the last hour will be reserved for you to start the writing challenge. Once you start, you will have until the end of the week to submit your synopsis. From there, our writing panel of experts will decide who has what it takes to be showcased at our Film Conference & Creative Showcase at the Cobb Galleria in August!

Synopsis Challenge:

Writing a great synopsis can help keep you on track and help editors in a variety of ways as well. We want you to create a synopsis between 3 – 5 pages, showing a clear vision of the story’s arcs and main it’s character/characters. As editors, we want to see how the characters develop and how they’re tested. In addition, we need to gauge if your story builds in momentum to the end. CRITERIA:

Our Monologue competition winner will be one of the actors you need to include into your synopsis. Picture will be provided.

THE WORKLOOP

The WORKLOOP is the Indie Film Loop’s way of engaging the creative film community throughout the Southeast region in a new, fun and exciting way! It’s where we take the entire filmmaking process, break it down into several different workshops and build a Film out of it based on the winning entrants. It’s an experience in collaborative competition and allows some of the best up and coming talents to rise to the occasion! We will give you certain parameters to work in just like a Big Movie Production Studio would. But, once we give you the criteria, we let you go be as creative as you want to be!

IT’s A COMPETITION

As a competition, the winning pieces of each workshop will then move their selected work to the next phase of development where those workshop participants will use it as a guideline for their project and therefore create the WORKLOOP ;)

SHOWCASING YOUR WORK

After all of the different workshops are completed, the wining pieces will be showcased during our Indie Film Loop: Film Conference & Creative Showcase this August at the Cobb Galleria Centre in Atlanta, GA. for all attendees to see and admire!
